Afghanistan U19 squad announced for Quadrangular One-day series

Afghanistan U19 squad has been announced for the upcoming quadrangular one-day Series in India that features Afghanistan U19, South Africa U19, India U19 A and India U19 B.

Chief Selector Dawlat Ahmadzai, who is currently in India, said: “The U19 squad has been selected after practice matches and I am hopeful that these youngsters will be successful group. We aim to work on the players from now and prepare a strong side for the ACC Youth Asia Cup later this year and ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.” Ahmadzai said that the since the selection of the squad for the recently concluded training camp; the focus has been on their skills, physical fitness and game plan.

The squad is as follows:

Farhan Zakhil (C), Abdul Rahman Rahmani, Mohammad Hassan Khan, Arif Khan Dawlatzai, Naweed Ahmad, Ijaz Mahran, Riaz Hassan, Abid Mohammadi, Shafiqullah Ghafari, Mohammad Ishaq Zazai, Abdullah Tarakheil, Abidullah Taniwal, Ihsanullah Mandozai, Islam Khan Zazai, Jamshid Mir Alikhil, Ahmad Zahir Pathan and Fazal Haq.

Reserve players include Rizwan Mangal, Sabir Hanif and Noor Ahmad.

Afghanistan U19 team is currently in India to take part in a quadrangular series that also includes South Africa, India U19 A and India and U19 B. Afghanistan’s first game is scheduled to be played against India U19 B tomorrow Tuesday 5th March.
