Dominant Bost beat Kabul by 7 wickets

Bost beat Kabul by 7 wickets in the sixth match of the super six round of Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament.

Earlier in the day, Bost won the toss and elected to field first. Their bowlers were impressive as Kabul lost their openers early. A 72 run partnership between Shawkat Zaman and Noor-ul-Haq stabilized the proceedings for Kabul before Zaman was caught by Najibullah Zadran off Rokhan Barakzai’s bowling. Other notable innings included 41 by Khaibar Omer and 30 runs by skipper Karim Jannat. However, the other batsmen could not contribute much as Kabul posted a below-par total of 216 runs on board in 50 overs.

In response, Bost started on a positive note as the openers dominated Kabul bowlers and scored at an amazing run rate of 10 per over as they put on 71 runs for the first wicket. Karim Sadiq , in particular, looked in great touch as he completed his half-century off just 31 deliveries which included three sixes and six boundaries. After Karim Sadiq lost his wicket, his opening partner Rahim Mangal and young batsman Nasir Khan put 66 runs for the second wicket as Bost looked comfortable in their pursuit.

To put an icing on the cake, Bost skipper Najibullah Zadran delivered an entertaining display of hard hitting batsmanship as he smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground scoring 58 runs off just 24 balls. He fittingly ended the match with a maximum off Karim Janat’s bowling to give Bost a comfortable victory by 7 wickets and enhance their chances of making it to the Final of the tournament.
